BUILDING SAFE SPACES FOR CHANGE

At Advocates 4 Peace and Urban Unity, we’ve seen firsthand how trauma from violence and gang activity impacts South LA. We create safe spaces and offer support to help families and individuals heal, reclaim their lives, and move forward. Together, we are breaking the cycles of violence and trauma that have hurt our community for generations.

BREAKING THE CYCLES OF VIOLENCE & TRAUMA

Gang violence has left deep scars in South LA, creating trauma that affects individuals, families, and entire neighborhoods. Through trauma-informed support, we help people recover and build safer, healthier futures free from the violence that has defined their past.

1,300,000 > 20

MOST OF US HAVE TRAUMA.

Over 70% of adults in South LA have experienced trauma, with violence being a major cause—whether through personal experience or witnessing it.

TOO FEW ARE GETTING HELP.

Only 35% of those who’ve faced trauma are able to seek healing, often due to stigma or lack of resources.
